The monitoring stations measure continuously, but the data reached decision-makers only after someone extracted it by hand. The system now reads it in real time and prepares the reports itself.
What was not working
Data from the monitoring stations was collected by hand and processed in spreadsheets. Too much time passed between a measurement and the moment somebody noticed a deviation, and every report cost someone a full working day.
What we did
An internal web application that reads the stations in real time, charts the data over time and generates the periodic reports itself, in the same format they were already submitted in.
